Career As Cabin Crew

Cabin Crew(also known as Flight Attendant, Host/Hostess, Steward/Stewardess)  are the members to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers both for International as well as Commercial flights. The career as a Flight attendant is very fascinating and also good paying.

Duties:-
           
  • The prior duty is to make passengers comfortable and brief them about their safety.
  • They welcome the passengers and communicate with the team to ensure that the passengers have boarded.
  • Steward/Stewardess need to take care about the food and hygiene.
  • They are the face of their respective Air carrier. So they need to be well behaved, maintained and polite.
  • Deals with the inquiries as well as complaints.
  • Verify the FAK ,fire extinguishers and oxygen bottle are in working order or not.
  • Give information about the weather, length of flights etc.


Responsibilities:-
Safety - It includes the in-flight safety demonstration, safety instruction, etc. It is explained before takeoff to passengers.



Aircraft First Aid Kit(FAK) - Cabin Crew need to deal with medical emergencies. The kit includes bandage and medical pouches.

Qualities of Cabin Crew
The qualities that Airline manager are looking for the post of Cabin Crew are:-

  • Knowledgeable
  • Quick decision taker
  • Team spirit
Eligibility
  • A good secondary education.
  • A good level of fitness.
  • Should meet the age profile(18-21 years), height(5ft2in - 6ft2in).
  • Should know Swimming skill.
  • Knowledge of second language.
  • Should have passport.

Opportunities
They have chance to be promoted to higher level i.e Senior Attendant and then Head Attendant. It's a great opportunity to travel all over the world.

Training
All cabin crew candidates should undergo 7 weeks of training (varies between airline to airline). The Cabin Crew training covers:-
   
               

  • Safety and Emergency 
  • First Aid
  • Fitness and Hygiene
  • Customer Services
  • Personal Grooming
  • Security
  • Cabin services

At the end of the training you will also be training onboard the Air Carrier.
